Do you have a brilliant new idea that will help us solve eating disorders?

The Australian Eating Disorders Research and Translation Centre’s new IgnitED Fund will support the development of the testing of new ideas or concepts that have the potential to positively impact the health and social and emotional wellbeing of people with eating disorders, their families and/or support.

We want to link researchers, lived experience, and clinical or community expertise to produce genuinely co-designed testing of inspired ideas that have the potential to help solve the problem of eating disorders.

The IgnitED Fund will offer 10 x up to $25,000 grants to Australian residents with great ideas who want to work in a co-design process, to bring their idea to life, and to build new relationships and skills.

What does 'co-design' mean?

Co-production is a term used to describe collaboration between individuals who have different strengths and perspectives. It includes co-planning, co-design, co-delivery and co-evaluation. The diagram below shows exactly how co-design fits into the co-production process.

The IgnitED Fund is focused on the co-design phase. It is aimed at developing up an idea that will help solve an issue or problem that relates to eating disorders and on planning how the idea will be tested and researched.

An important part of what we want to do with IgnitED is to create new partnerships – so all successful projects will need to be co-designed with research and lived experience expertise (at a minimum).
