Dr Siân McLean is an academic in the Department of Psychology, Counselling, and Therapy at La Trobe University.

Her main research focus is the 1) exploration of risk, maintenance, and protective factors that contribute to the development of body dissatisfaction and disordered eating, and 2) evaluation of prevention and treatment interventions for eating disorders. Her research investigates novel approaches (e.g., social media literacy interventions, online and e-health app-delivered treatment) to address body dissatisfaction and eating disorders. Siân is also President of the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders.
