Support for carers

What support and skills do families and carers need to help their loved one at all ages and stages of treatment across the recovery journey?

Carers and loved ones play a fundamental role in the recovery journey, but often feel lost and helpless when faced with the challenges an eating disorder brings. The unique lived experience of carers and loved ones can contribute invaluable information in the research process. Research should be co-designed and co-produced with carers and loved ones so that we may best understand the challenges they face and the skills needed to support their loved one across the treatment and recovery journey.

Research can transform people's lives.

The Australian Eating Disorders Research and Translation Centre is supported by funding from the Australian Government under the National Leadership in Mental Health program.

Lead Agency, InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders, is a joint venture between the Sydney Local Health District and the University of Sydney
