Prof Luke Wolfenden

University of Newcastle

Luke Wolfenden is a behavioural and implementation scientist, and Professor of Public Health at the University of Newcastle. He is the Director of the NHMCR funded National Centre of Implementation Science, Co-Director of WHO Collaborating Centre for NCD Program Implementation and Co-ordinating Editor of Cochrane Public Health. He also leads an embedded research team of over 30 staff in the Hunter-New England region of New South Wales, acknowledged internationally as an exemplar model for the translation of health research into practice. His research seeks to reduce chronic disease burden in the community through undertaking policy relevant evidence syntheses; trials of interventions to reduce chronic disease risks; and testing strategies to increase the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
